OWN THE NIGHT!

Yancey County Public Library would like to welcome Yancey teen bloggers to the new Summer Reading Program blog!!

Here's how it works:

The Summer Reading Program challenge is to read 1 book per week throughout the Summer Reading Program which lasts June 5- July 24- that's eight books!

Instead of keeping track of the minutes you read, you'll be keeping track of the books you read.  Every time you read a book and post a short blog, we will enter your name in the raffle for the grand prize!!  We have a bag filled with books, bookmarks, a journal, and some really cool prizes for the grand winner, so start increasing your chances by reading!  And yes . . . you guessed it, if you read more than 1 book per week and you add a blog, we will enter your name again:)

Each time you read a book, post a blog which states:

1) the title and author
2) your name & age
3) quick summary
4) what you liked/didn't like

Don't forget that each Tuesday night we meet at the library you have a chance to win a book in one of our scavenger hunts, so stop by the library on Tuesdays to participate . . .  not to mention, if you just show up on Tuesday nights, your name is entered in the drawing.

  1. Skylark by Patricia MacLachlan, 87 pages
Summery: It was about a family going through a drought in a small prairie.
    What I liked: Good ending.
What I didn't like: It could have had more details.

  4. Princess in Waiting, Meg Cabot.
    Abby Newton, age 11 1/2
Summary: About Princess Mia how she has a hard time being Princess of Genovia, and how she thinks her boyfriend Michael is always cheating on her while she is gone.
What I liked: Not too much actually.
What I didn't like: It was sort of boring, and the words were too clobbered up.
